Sophia turns eight

Photobucket

I can not believe that she is eight. She is so much fun to talk to, her ideas and suggestions are so great, and are evolving into more and more complex questions and thoughts.
She is an incredible negotiator, and I love to hear her use her verbal skills to "help" her sisters see things her way.
She is loving second grade, and has taken to her homework much easier this year. She loves to eat, and she loves to help cook.
She loves jumprope, dancing, making up plays, and snuggling.
I love when she gets silly, and really lets loose and goofy.
Sophia is swimming like a fish, and loves swimming anytime, anyplace.
I have loved watching this girl grow, and I am so excited to see what she accomplishes in her eighth year!
love you sweet Sophia Isabella

The rundown on her day:

Sophia Isabella Mautz was born at 5:24 a.m.

We recreated the moment. We were laughing so hard. I didn't know which was funnier, the reenactment, or the fact that we started celebrating her birhtday at 5:24 a.m.

Pre dawn breakfast of her favorite Dutch Baby, served with cinnamon and sugar.

The cake request this year:
Chocolate. With Barbie and Ken on top. kissing.
Um. Okay...but no kissing because you're eight and shouldn't even think anything but that boys stink. except Dad.

Perhaps I should have closed Barbie's legs. Yikes!

There was swimming

We celebrated from dawn until dusk...

When I first realized I was going to become a parent, I thought of all the long, sleepless nights, the diapers, and everything baby. I didn't realize that it gets better every year, (even as I miss my little baby sophie.)
