CAMPING, PART II

Photobucket

When you camp in the winter in Hawaii, it gets starts getting dark at 5:30. That is usually time to start thinking about making dinner. Toby and I decided it really was the most beautiful "kitchen" we'd ever made dinner together.
This is why I love to camp:
It Is Magical
Full Moon
Raging Ocean
Happy Children
Toby(if there were words that could explain how I feel....)
=
A very content, happy me.

Photobucket

Some days, it was pretty overcast for a while. We still managed to have fun

Photobucket

I had a VERY exciting experience while on our adventures. South Point Hawaii actually looks a LOT like Utah desert! Oh be still my heart...having lived in Torrey, Utah for over three years, my soul will ALWAYS sing for the desert!

Photobucket

Oh...how I miss those desert nights...

Photobucket

Then again...when I look at the WHOLE picture....

I am clearly no longer in my beloved desert.

Ahhh...camping. We have not been camping forever! It seems we were busy having baby after baby after baby, and then we moved to Hawaii...you get the picture.
day trips to the beach with a baby are awesome! Camping with a baby...not so much.
I love camping, and now that Lyla Rose is a "big girl" we are back in action!

Photobucket

I love this picture for so many reasons. First, my cubbies hat! Everytime I wear it I dream of Chicago! I love it. Also, we are traveling in the car Toby and I bought together two weeks before we were married. A first with our family since two huge car seats wont fit side by side. Now, a booster, a car seat, and a big kid = backroad camping. And my most favorite thing of all....Avery's face! Look at her. Pure happiness..

Photobucket

It does kind of look like we plopped our kids in the middle of some parking lot to play. But, be assured, it is soft, soft black sand. Sure it gets hot. but whatever. go wet your toesies if you are too hot...

Photobucket

you would do the same.

Happy Valentines!

Photobucket

I don't have pictures from Valentines Day. Know that it did involve whale watching, swimming, and a stop at Big Island Candy company.

I do have, however some photos of Christmas and New Years....

Photobucket

Don't you just love dreamy (read: blurry) photos?
Romantic, aren't they?
I am starting to think though that all of our photos for the last year are starting to look like life through cataracts. But, alas.. more, ahem, dreamy photos...

Photobucket

Christmas Eve brought traditions! Making cookies for Santa.
"Believe me Mom, Santa wants Chocolate chip!"

Also, laying on the rug while it was airing...not really a tradition, but totally crazy as it was Christmas Eve, and I am still not used to seeing sights like this...

Photobucket

Um, Avery is totally in her shorts. sweet.

Photobucket

yes, this picture is included, because I know you want to know the decorations for our big Christmas Eve dinner. I splurged on the Pomegranates. They were three dollars each. I'm not sure how much they cost on the ML, but pretty sure they weren't that. But the tangerines and orange leaves and blossoms were free. Provided by the back yard. Makes up for the Pomegranates, don't you think?
I've decided that Christmas Eve dinner is the way to go! No cooking on Christmas Day makes for a truly magical, lazy, appreciative day. Talk about a day off! I think I may get one a year. With VERY careful planning.

Photobucket

This picture is included because of the clean house. All I want for Christmas...

Photobucket

Tradition! yes, I find I do love them....Pajamas. I know, sooo original.

Photobucket

The big gift. Also, look close. These are the jammies I made for the girls. Avery's have horses, of course.

Photobucket

Lyla Rose, monkeys. Is it any surprise?

Photobucket

For some odd reason, there is no picture of just Sophia and her new bike. I know, so odd for a first child! She is totally getting third child treatment. You may note, however, that the color on her jammies is pink, pink, pink!

and now, I'm tired!

This photo was taken at South Point, Hawaii

Yes, I have located the cord! I know you have been waiting with baited breath. But now, after downloading over 600 photos, I'm tired.
I will be back.
Tomorrow?
