SOPHIA
recently had her first grade evaluation.
Auntie Laurie was the facilitator.
This brought much anxiety for Soph. "What if I don't get in? I don't think I could do another year of kindergarten Mom, I really don't"
I was quite surprised about the anxiety level of the six year old. An extra long ribbon was requested for her hair.
She walked into the class room a little timid, and emerged 45 minutes later full of confidence.
Needless to say, she is going to first grade.
Then Lyla fell off of the playground
so there was no real discussion with Auntie Laurie,
only reassurance from the child that she is indeed ready to go.
As long as she has it all covered.

Avery Olivia...

You are amazingly sweet.
I loved catching you in a moment when you found a piece of long grass, and you chewed it just like a little goat.

And then you caught me looking at you.....

You make me SMILE.
A LOT

Miss Lyla Rose is LOVING having her sisters home all day..
So far, summer has brought two visitors, beach days, trips to the zoo, sleeping in,(if you consider 6:30 sleeping in, which I do) art projects galore, homemade popscicles, and shave ice. We are done with soccer. (I am not so secretly happy. That was a lot of work). My house is full and messy. Just like my life!

Friday nights in our house are the same every Friday. The girls and I make home made pizza, and popcorn, and Dad brings us home a movie to watch. AKA "Late Night Movie Night!" (because we stay up a whole half hour later than school nights. Well, one night, Dad brought "Bolt" home for us. Um, completely Not appropriate for my little ladies...(It starts out with a home intrusion, kidnapping of the father situation) At any rate, after about one minute of scary music, we decided to pull the plug on the movie... Hmmm, what to do?, what to do?
Okay, Sun setting over ocean? sure!!! We just went ahead in our jammies and ended up here...
We LOVED it! perhaps late night movie night will include the occasional field trip as well....

P.S.
The sun never sets on our side of the island, as we live on the Eastern side, but details, details....
